Free tritype test
Find your Enneagram tritype, one type from each of the three centers, along with your core type and wing. The free test scores all nine types, then reads your tritype straight from those scores, so you see exactly how it was decided.
Take the free testWhat you get
- Your tritype, in orderThree numbers, one from each center, highest score first, like 4-5-9. Each links to a page on that combination.
- Your core typeThe first number of your tritype, with a confidence label so you know whether it was a clear result or a close call.
- Your wingThe stronger of your core type's two neighbors, or balanced when the two are within a few points.
- All nine scoresSo you can see how decisive each center's pick was, and which runner-up to read if one number doesn't fit.
How the test finds your tritype
- Gut center8 · 9 · 1Organized around anger. Your highest of the three goes in.
- Heart center2 · 3 · 4Organized around shame. Your highest of the three goes in.
- Head center5 · 6 · 7Organized around fear. Your highest of the three goes in.
The three picks are then ordered by score. Your core type is your highest score overall, so it always comes first, and its wings and growth and stress lines are the ones that apply to you. The full method, and where it falls short, is in the tritypes guide and on how the test works.
One honest caveat. The 90 statements were written to find your core type, and the tritype is derived from those same answers rather than from a separate set of questions. That's a reasonable shortcut, not a dedicated tritype instrument. When two types in a center are a few points apart, read both pages and keep the one that fits.

Questions
Is there a free tritype test?
Yes. The free Enneagram.dev test reports your tritype along with your core type and wing. It takes about eight minutes, and there's no account, email, or payment.
How does the test work out my tritype?
You rate 90 statements, ten per type. Each type gets a score from 0 to 100. The test takes the highest-scoring type in each center (gut: 8, 9, 1; heart: 2, 3, 4; head: 5, 6, 7) and lists those three by score. Your core type is your highest score overall, so it always comes first.
How accurate is a tritype test?
Treat any tritype result as a hypothesis. Self-report can only capture what you can see in yourself, the second and third positions often rest on close scores, and research on tritype is thin. Read the pages for your three types and check the runner-up in any center that doesn't fit.
How many tritypes are there?
There are 27 combinations (three choices in each of three centers) and 162 ordered tritypes, since each combination can be arranged six ways. Each combination on this site has one page that covers all six orders.
What's the difference between a tritype and a wing?
A wing is one of the two types beside your core type on the circle. A tritype takes one type from each of the three centers. A 4w5 with a 4-5-9 tritype has the Five showing up in both roles; a 4w3 can't have a Three in its tritype, because 3 and 4 share the heart center.
